A statement from Performing Arts Center Eastside (PACE) and the Atsuhiko and Ina Goodwin Tateuchi Foundation

BELLEVUE, WA (May 24, 2019) — Performing Arts Center Eastside (PACE) and The Atsuhiko and Ina Goodwin Tateuchi Foundation are committed to the creation of a world-class performing arts center in Bellevue. In May of 2010, this shared vision resulted in the Tateuchi Foundation committing to support the construction of a new performing arts center and endow Asian programming. To honor that support, the new center was to be known as the Tateuchi Center. By mutual agreement we announce that the Tateuchi Center will return to its original name and again be known as the Performing Arts Center Eastside. The Atsuhiko and Ina Goodwin Tateuchi Foundation will continue to be a Major Donor to PACE, and recognized as such moving forward.

The Tateuchi Foundation fully supports PACE’s vision that a community of the size and stature of Bellevue and the Greater Eastside deserves a large modern, quality cultural center and has the greatest admiration for the many donors who support PACE and want to see the vision realized. In addition, the Tateuchi Foundation thanks the PACE Board and staff for its efforts over the last ten years.

The PACE Board is grateful to the Atsuhiko and Ina Goodwin Tateuchi Foundation for its early support of this bold plan to bring quality live entertainment to the Eastside. For almost 20 years The Atsuhiko and Ina Goodwin Tateuchi Foundation has been a valuable supporter of a myriad of organizations including the Seattle Symphony, Seattle Opera, University of Washington, Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Public Library, Densho and the Bellevue Botanical Garden. The Tateuchi Foundation has also supported charitable organizations up and down the West Coast and Hawaii. The Tateuchi Foundation looks forward to the opening of the performing arts center in Bellevue and the opportunity for the public to enjoy Japanese and Asian programs at the new performing arts center.
