WINTER EXTENSION!

ARTS WITHOUT BARRIERS CELEBRATION

ABOUT

ARTS WITHOUT BARRIERS is a celebration of free, live performances at Eastside locations. With a theme of “Music in Spring”, this year’s celebration featured local artists performing family friendly music sets at various locations throughout Bellevue and Redmond for a period of 10 weeks starting April 5–June 5. In the spring, 90 two-hour music sets were performed and over 37,000 audience members stopped, listened, and enjoyed this free event. But that’s not all: due to the popularity of the event, PACE extended the program through the summer and fall for a total of 7 months and to date has reached more than 50,000 audience members. The video below features a sampling of the many musicians who performed in this inaugural celebration. ENJOY!

SO FAR…
•  Over 50,000 audience members stopped, listened, and enjoyed the live free events
•  118 two-hour music sets were performed

COVID SAFETY

PACE is excited to bring some joyful sound back to our region! Yet we also take the virus, and the restrictions in place to help curb the pandemic, very seriously. Our programming partner, Gigs4U, participated in the development of the Washington state guidelines for performing arts reopening and are perfectly positioned to execute all requirements and good judgement. In fact, the Gigs4U policies and protocols are more conservative than the official state guidelines.

These are busking-type performances that do not draw dense standing crowds. We are creating background music in a controlled environment for the enjoyment of passersby from a safe distance. Gigs4U actively manages the performances including sterilizing all equipment, providing sanitizing products for all staff and musicians, actively managing performance locations to create and maintain safe social distancing between the performers and any folks nearby, and more. Gigs4U maintains weekly communication with reopening authorities in the major metropolitan areas, King County, and the Governor’s office to stay informed of developments and best practices.

FAQ

PACE is intending to make ARTS WITHOUT BARRIERS a yearly celebration. Please see the information below if you are interested in participating this year or in the future.

Q: I am a performing musician/artist. How can I get involved?
A: PACE is working with a professional services company, Gigs4U, to schedule and manage the talent provided for this program. All artists are screened through Gigs4U’s system; to learn more about it and to apply, please visit www.gigs4u.org and see the ‘Musicians – Start Here!’ page. When you complete your application, you will be able to select ‘Arts Without Barriers’ as one of your program interests, along with any other programs managed by Gigs4U.

Q: My Eastside business is interested in hosting performances for the celebration. How do we get involved?
A: While site programming is largely complete for this celebration, PACE would love to hear more about your business initiatives and discuss future opportunities to partner in support of the Eastside community. Please message info@pacelive.org for more information.

Q: Our business/organization is interested in sponsoring the program. How do we get involved?
A: For this, and future program sponsorship opportunities, please message info@pacelive.org for more information. We look forward to discussing how we can together support arts programming and arts education in our Eastside communities!
